This Privacy Policy describes how ScanHarbor (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the ScanHarbor mobile application (the “App”) on iOS devices.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Summary

ScanHarbor is a document scanner. Your scanned documents, images, OCR text, signatures, and related metadata are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them through iOS sharing features.

We do not operate a cloud account or sync service for your documents as part of the App.

We may show advertisements through Google AdMob. If you purchase Remove Ads, ad placements in the App are disabled for your account on that device, subject to Apple’s purchase and restore rules.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide and create in the App

When you use ScanHarbor, the App may create and store on your device:

This content is processed and stored on your device using Apple frameworks such as SwiftData and the local file system. We do not receive this content unless you voluntarily send it to us (for example, by emailing support).

2.2 Device permissions

Depending on how you use the App, we may request access to:

PermissionPurpose
CameraScan documents using your device camera
Photo LibraryImport images from your photo library
Face ID / Touch IDOptional app lock to protect access to the App
App Tracking Transparency (ATT)Optional permission related to personalized advertising

You can manage or revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Some features may not work without the relevant permission.

2.3 Biometric authentication

If you enable app lock, authentication is handled by Apple’s LocalAuthentication framework on your device. We do not collect or store your biometric data. Biometric templates remain on your device and are managed by iOS.

2.4 On-device processing

The following features run on your device and do not send your document content to our servers:

2.5 Advertising and related data

If you use the free version of the App and have not purchased Remove Ads, we work with Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob and its partners may collect or receive information such as:

This data may be used to deliver, measure, and personalize ads, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

In the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and other regions where required, we use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to collect and manage your advertising consent choices. You can reopen consent choices in the App under Settings → Ad Privacy Choices when available.

On iOS, we may request App Tracking Transparency permission before using data for cross-app tracking for advertising, where applicable.

For more information about how Google uses data, see Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s advertising technologies.

2.6 Purchases

If you buy Remove Ads or restore purchases, Apple processes payment and provides us with purchase status information through StoreKit. We do not receive your full payment card details.

We store whether ads have been removed on your device (for example, in UserDefaults) so the App can honor your purchase.

2.7 Support communications

If you contact us at support@sssoftech.com, we receive the information you choose to send (such as your email address, message content, and any attachments). We use this information only to respond to your request.

2.8 Information we do not collect

We do not intentionally collect:

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How We Use Information

We use information as follows:

4. How We Share Information

We may share information in these situations:

We do not share your locally stored documents with third parties except as described above or when you direct the App to share them.

5. Data Retention

You can delete documents within the App, clear cache where offered in Settings, or remove all App data by deleting the App from your device.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Because most document data stays on your device, you can delete it locally at any time.

EEA / UK users: If we process personal data based on consent, you may withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents: You may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. For ad-related choices, use in-app privacy controls and device settings.

To exercise rights related to information we hold, contact support@sssoftech.com. We may need to verify your request.

7. Children’s Privacy

ScanHarbor is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the App’s design, including local on-device storage and Apple platform security features. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device and any content you export or share.

9. International Users

If you use the App outside your home country, information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate, including the United States. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country.

Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms for international transfers (such as standard contractual clauses implemented by service providers).

The App may link to third-party websites or services (for example, support pages or advertiser destinations). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the App or as required by law. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
